A supercar earns its keep once you're clear of the North Circular, not while you're sitting in it. The good news is that some of England's best driving roads are within two hours of central London, which makes a weekend hire genuinely worth planning around rather than just a novelty for the school run.
Head for the Chilterns first. The A413 and the lanes around Great Missenden twist through beech woodland and chalk hills barely forty minutes from the M25 — short enough for a half-day loop, quiet enough on a weekday morning that you'll have long stretches to yourself.
The South Downs make a proper full day out. The A272 running through Sussex, past Midhurst and towards Petworth, is flowing and well-sighted rather than technical — a good match for something like our Aston Martin DB11 or a Bentley Continental GTC, with a stop at Goodwood on the way for anyone with an interest in the circuit's motorsport history.
Mind the timing, not the emissions zone. Most visitors assume London's Ultra Low Emission Zone will be a problem — it isn't, our fleet is modern and compliant throughout. The real thing to plan around is traffic: leave the city before 7am or after 10am on a weekday, and avoid trying to cross the M25 anywhere near rush hour in either direction.
Amara's UK fleet is available on a two-day minimum, with delivery across London and nationwide including major airports.
