Most of what people picture in Cannes — the Croisette, the beach clubs, the film-festival red carpet — is a small stretch of a much longer coast, and outside festival week (when road closures and one-way diversions make driving genuinely difficult) it's a relaxed, easy base for exploring the wider Riviera.
An evening cruise along La Croisette is the whole point. Slow, valet-heavy, built for something with real presence — a Rolls-Royce Dawn or Bentley Continental GTC with the roof down suits the pace of the seafront far better than anything track-focused.
The Estérel Corniche is the drive most visitors miss. Twenty minutes west towards Théoule-sur-Mer, the coast road climbs into the red volcanic rock of the Massif de l'Estérel — tighter, more technical, and a proper change of pace from the Croisette. A Porsche 992 Cabrio or 911 Carrera Cabrio is the better tool here.
If your visit does land on festival week, arrange delivery well outside the closure zone and treat central Cannes as walking territory for those few days — the corniche roads either side of town are unaffected and still worth the trip.
