Milan to Lake Como: A Half-Day That Changes Your Perspective

Milan itself is more about presence than pace — it's a fashion and business city, and a car here does most of its work outside restaurants and hotels rather than on open roads. The Area C congestion charge covers the historic centre, so it's worth confirming your hotel's location before arranging delivery.

A Maybach S-Class or Bentley Bentayga suits the city itself. Milan rewards understated presence over outright drama — save the noise for the drive out.

Lake Como is under an hour up the A9. The autostrada gets you there quickly; the reward is the lakeside road through Como town towards Bellagio, which is narrow, scenic, and genuinely different from anything in the city. A Ferrari Roma or Porsche 992 Targa handles the lake road properly.

Go on a weekday if you can. Weekend traffic around Bellagio and Como town is heavy from late morning — a weekday visit, or an early Saturday start, keeps the lake road what it should be.

Amara's Italy fleet is available on a two-day minimum, with delivery to Milan Malpensa, Linate, and the city centre.
